canteloupe without the priest I

prashant emani

“Here’s a tale about here and yonder,
sit back and ponder, wonder and wander.
There were by the lake in old Palomain,
Two twin mountains inhabited by brothers twain,
They were blathers, six feet in gain, gaunt and lean,
Sheen of the armadillo, bold and mean.
The boulders were shorn from the face of the rock,
Flung far and wide, vain victims amok.
The river bifurcated the peaks, the middle fork of a prong,
Masters of dominion, old Schlomo and Schlong.
The green valley ensconced, ripe with life,
the meek creek-weakling villagers kept out, o strife.
Pillaged and plundered, gortex pluck asundered.
The blathers bleated in evil sated surreted tongues,
The corks were capped, the bottles had bungs.
No flow, wind blow, glow no more so wept the crow.
Sixteen hordes in an empty chow line.
The leaf lifted aside their home revealed, sealed vacuum bags and tarpaulin appeal.
In mint condition with glint of sword terror they bore, the bloodless gore.
The stars slammed the breaks on their cosmic travels to refurbish their empty soul ladles.

Ill give you a round of applause

nicole pamelia

Ill give you a round of applause
if you give me a standing O
stand back and watch my merry go
round and round circling fun
sorry but Im in love with the barker's son
none of the voice, bite not the bark
underdog of the amusement park
two balls for a dollar give it a spin
step right up, everyone wins
says queen of the Bs
trailer park trash monster prick tease
daddy's got the bark and not the bite
spending my life on bright lights and small nights
stand back now watch my merry go
round and round im in love although
he's just the underdog at this funfair
games for all and a dancin bear
daddy's got no bite, lost all his teeth
we'll be moving on at the end of the week
broken lights and big days
strutting queen of the midway
and watch my merry go
round again step right up enjoy the show
keep your eye on the red queen of spades
"follow your dreams" not the parade
as round and round they go
where she stops dont nobody know
step right up, try your luck
monster truck fuck, pick a duck
and win a goldfish, everyone WINS
round and round my merry spins
round and round the affair, weekends done
im in love with the barker's son
cutoff shorts and middriff tees
cold fish eye moving striptease
back to the front on the barker's lap
pull me to my knees with no strings attached
carnival magicians act
everyones a winner, thats the fact
of the matter as a matter of fact
two balls for a dollar, the spade queen from the back
from behind pick a row
watch my merry go
round. the barker's son is all tooth
no refunds at this kissing booth
carmel candied apples red
ferris wheel eyes and bobble heads
queen of the midway cold fish eye strut
step right up and try your luck
so sorry man, you had your fun
but Im in love with the barker's son
cotton candy and beer batter fries
change in their pockets and lust in their eyes
everyones a winner and everyone wins
step right up as my merry spins rounded and rounder take your pick
carnival barking and cheap turning tricks
a throw for a nickel three for a dime
He'll tell you theres a winner every time
but there's no refunds at this kissing booth
he's got the voice but the son's all tooth
now broken lights and night fades
underdog of the midway and his queen of spades.

You waste my poetry

christa beverlin

apart tonight
i think of parted lips
sweaty chests
hell, im a mess inside
tossing, turn, yurn
blistered without his glistening grin
must have his poison once again
just one more time let him in
fight with him and let him win.
kneed his fingers
twisted calves
bring back my better half.
broken heart from battleing him
nothing but swimming thoughts within,
just two lonely people
trying to forget each others names.

last year; the last time I checked
righteous inability was slain ON
but hard lines without a lamb of fugu

we can be on fire
grope one another in "holy matrimony"
impending death and eventual return

others, stripped, prodded and stared at
left over former penal codes breaks down rapidly
god have mercy on these

It Came Down to Ohio

teresa mock

for Erinn Huntley

It all came down to Ohio that November.
She said, "Root for Ohio for me." And I did.
Of course I did, there's a 26 acre farm there where you grew up.
Of course I did, they were one of the 11 states banning any forever I hoped for with you.
Some people share a cup 'o jo,
We shared a swing state
While you looked at me with eyes that couldn't decide what color to be.
It wasn't the only thing I was waiting on Ohio for,
As they called them in one by one, blue then red, and red and red.
No matter how much I twisted the couch pillows like Twizzlers,
I couldn't make Ohio come through for you.
And I thought how ironic that she didn't either.
Now they've called the election and all our friends cast their votes for me,
But I was waiting on your eyes.
I have to admire the time you took.
The world moves too fast for me anyway.
It's nice to slow it all down with you,
To stop time and place with you.
I waited that Thanksgiving while you spent it in Ohio,
Waited for your Decision 2004,
The one you never regretted.

I’m so good-looking.
I’m doing so well.
Just struggling to try and stay humble.
Oscar Wilde ain’t got nothing on me.
I never wrote…
And I got more blowjobs.

Hands down.
